In April of 2013, I went on a work trip to New Mexico Tech (aka the New Mexico School of Mines) in Socorro, New Mexico. Because of time zones and logistics I flew in a day earlier, which allowed me to explore/take the a non-direct path south to Socorro from the Albuquerque Airport. Here are some of the places I visited on my way.
I also got the chance to tour the Very Large Array, a radio telescope located about 50 miles west of Socorro, during my trip. This array of 27 antennae is a component of the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) and has allowed scientists to make many important discoveries about the Universe.
